Ah, so that's why my mother, when she phoned me from the hospital for her friend's phone number, was unable to write it down.

She also lost much of her active English knowledge (a second language she only needed to speak to my husband), which at the time seemed strange.


Interesting article. I had similar symtoms but no chemotherapy. My memory and word loss prompted the comment from a member of the medical profession that I was suffering from post traumatic stress following radical surgery and radiation treatment. Three years on I think its becoming just good old fashioned senility.- Regards Jean.
