I'm sorry so few people have commented on your piece in the Guardian. They seem to have opinions on everything, and at great length, except for important things like reading for children.
Have you found a big difference in reading between your older daughters and your son?
I find I'm very out of touch with younger books as the children grow older.

i haven't really found a big difference yet - we're incredibly lucky in this house because of all the book packages that arrive daily, and all the kids still enjoy these postal surprises, so it makes them all read I think. The boys do seem to be more attracted to fact books though, and I notice that with Elon already; even as a baby he loved books with names of trucks, dinosaurs, aeroplanes etc, which I don't remember the girls going for...
