Old friend Sarah Holder - who has, in her time, trekked across Soviet steppes to bring food to the needy - has organised a fund-raising event for the CTRT appeal, details below. Only fifty tickets left, so if you want one, apply now!

They've called it "An Evening for Dina" which is incredibly touching, but I don't seem able to reproduce their poster here. Still the film is La Vie en Rose, and it's a biopic about Edith Piaf.

The screening is Tuesday June 26th, film starting at 8.50pm, and it's at the Screen on the Hill, which, you will remember, Professor Rustin seemed particularly happy about!

Earlier this year, journalist Dina Rabinovitch launched a £100,000 appeal for the hospital where she is
undergoing chemotherapy trials. This is part of the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre’s ‘CTRT Appeal’,
established by Professor Gordon Rustin, to raise £1million to fund ongoing research and build a dedicated
chemotherapy research unit.

Dina’s courageous and often humorous articles about her treatment have been published in her book
‘Take Off Your Party Dress’ (the proceeds of which are going to the appeal). This private screening
of French film ‘La Vie en Rose’ (Certificate 12A) about the life of singer, Edith Piaf, will raise funds
for her appeal.

Marion Cotillard shines in her portrayal of Piaf and is said to be a certain Oscar nominee. Rising from a
poverty-stricken life, Piaf got her break when she was discovered on the street by nightclub owner Louis
Leplée, played by Gérard Depardieu.

This is definitely a ‘must see’ film and we hope you will join us to help make
today’s cancer research become tomorrow’s cancer cure.
