Maeve Binchy

I had a card from the mega-selling Maeve Binchy today. It is one of the things about this illness, and writing about it, that very busy people take the trouble to write and send courage.

In her card, Binchy says the kindest thing: "I will order your book," she writes, "and I will talk it up - truly!" This is a huge deal from a magnificent storyteller, and, you know, it just made my day.
